Juan Silva-Pereyra is a tenure-track faculty in the Neuroscience Project and faculty member of FES Iztacala, National University of Mexico (UNAM).
Silva-Pereyra obtained his PhD in Physiological Sciences from UNAM, MSci in Neurosciences from UNAM, and BS in Psychology at FES Iztacala UNAM. He studied psycholinguistics on childhood with Professor Patricia Kuhl at University of Washington during his posdoctoral position.
Silva-Pereyra’s specialties include
- psychophysiology of syntax and semantics
- speech and voice perception
- learning and cognitive development
- quantitative electrocephalography (qEEG), event-related potentials (ERP), Source localization methods
Silva-Pereyra conducts an active research program with collaborators home and abroad. Many students at doctoral, master, and undergraduate levels have been involved in research projects of Silva-Pereyra.
