My students and myself are a research team within the Neuroscience Project of the National University of Mexico. The aim of our work is to understand the cognitive processes that underlie language comprehension and to identify the cerebral representation of these. Thus, part of our research focuses on the different levels involved in the processing of reading comprehension and production (i.e., phonological,  morphological, lexical, syntactic, semantic, etc.). Most of our experiments involve healthy adults and children but we also study more specific populations such as people suffering from cognitive impairment. In our work, we use behavioral approaches such as reaction times as well as brain imaging paradigms, including electrophysiological and neuroimaging techniques.
